More CHA Top Picks & Giveaway!!

So some of you struggled a bit with my "motif" question last day so I thought I'd give some more examples of possible suggestions...

One of my favourite motifs are birds... I don't actually decorate my home with this one, but do LOVE birds and we are seeing them all over in the crafting industry (and we have some neat plans for them at our Scrapbook Your Heart retreat in May!!!)  The top picture is a template from Crafter's Workshop and below you can see an entire line from one of my favourite companies... FANCY PANTS!!!

Even the title of this new line makes my heart sing... "It's the Little Things"...

and I'm all about these quick and cute journaling aids... there is now NO EXCUSE for not including some journaling on every page!!!!!

And some Maya Roads stamps that I think are simply perfect just as they are!!!!!

Glitz Design has some beautiful new lines....

And one of my favourite motifs that I do use in both decor and scrapbooking is "ornate" type patterns...

Even their blingy "glitzers" have beautiful ornate designs!!!  This makes me happy... combining ornate with bling!!!!!!!

And I just threw this one in because my father-in-law lives for crosswords and I think it would be so fun to create a layout with this on it!!!

So another motif I thoroughly enjoy and am confident will NEVER go away is flowers!!!  Check out these new metal ones from Graphic 45!!!!  How fun!!!

Kaiser Craft presented a "Magic Happens" line perfect for the princess in your world!!!  I love these colours together...

Kaiser Craft also does a lot of wooden "motifs" like the butterflies, birds, flourishes, etc. that make the perfect accent as is or altered.

And back to princesses for just a quickie... LOVED this stamp from C.C. Designs!!

And these ones from Unity Stamps...

And these push-pins from Webster's Pages... how cute!!!

Okay... today's question (hopefully a less intimidating one!!!)...

What things do you think make for the BEST Crop events????  Is it the location, the facility, the food, the instructors, class projects, the sponsors, having a "cause", the people organizing, the people attending, etc.  Tell me your top things you like at an event to make it EPIC!!!!!

Leave a comment here and then be sure to head over to Christy Riopel's BLOG for more chances to win a prize bundle worth $50!!

All those extras at crops are great but I have to say the thing that makes a crop to me is the friends I am with!

I feel that all of those things make an "epic" crop!!!! I had a blast at the Calgary, Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival!!!! I felt the ladies, the instructors, and the AMAZING array of products for sale helped!!!

For local crops, my fave thing is the people!!!Only at a crop, can you just pipe up with "turquoise, or brown??? - Should I crop him out of this one???" and you have many ideas and opinions...

The best part of crops is going with friends and making new friends!

I love crops, even tho I never get anything done LOL
But what I love the most is spending time with awesome talented friends!

All that you mentioned, but in the
big picture, I'm drawn to crops
firstly by who is organizing them,
the purpose of the crop, a nice location definitely adds to the perks, and being with people who have a sense of humour!!!!!!!!
.....hmmmm...having good food and not having to cook and clean up is also a drawing card for me.
Why did you have to make this question so hard!!!?? LOL

I think it's a combinaition of all of those, but having enough space is a big one for me and I need it long enough as it can take 5 hrs to get into the groove, I love to go with great people I already know, but if no one can make I usually meet great new people because lets face it, scrapbookers are great people.

For me it's a tie between the location (as in having enough space at your table) and the people. Those were great picks, Allison!

My favorite part of crops is the Scrapbooking comraderie that always seems to comes to light. I love the support you get when you are stumbling over a layout, the offer of a million embelllishments when you really need one, "the you can absolutely borrow my cricut cartridge" that inevitably happens. So the mix and match of the people, is the best part for me. Oh, and a good meal, and a great class, never hurt my feelings either :)

Oh there are so many things I love about crops...the location for sure, the people organizing, spending time with friends. But I love it when there are challenges and prizes as well! It makes it oh so fun!

What I like when I attend crops is being with friends and how they use their bling.

For me crops are chances to interact with other crafters in what is sometimes a solitary hobby. So my favourite things will be the instructor and other participants.

I love the extras....taking classes, learning new techniques, seeing what everyone else is working on, having space, and best of all scrapbooking with friends!

Boy, all those things you mentioned make it "epic"! I love all the "little" things - finding treats in my room, getting door prizes, having special kits to work on, having a theme for the weekend, being challenged to try new things, and making new friends! It's all good!
